Motivation & Support / DARE TO SHRED AGAIN!! Sk's weightloss program!
Greetings from Day 14! =p
So, I meant to post when I started, but hopefully late is better than never.
I am loving the results of this program! Not a big fan of meat (incl. chicken & fish) or the scale, so this has really been a challenge in those respects. I love that the workouts always guarantee a good full body work-up, and that I can coast on them if I want, not needing to think about what to do each day for exercise.
In 2 weeks, I’ve lost a bit over 5#, which is HUGE for me. The muscle definition I’m seeing is thrilling, and I’m loving all the little muscles popping out that were hiding before. =)
I’ve never eaten this much protein in my life. It’s turned my insides to cement. TMI for sure, but regularly taking some raw greens/grass powder & stool softener has been completely necessary, lol.
Had a few fumbles. MyFitnessPal kept undoing my custom macros on me before I realized it, so I didn’t do the low carb days I was supposed to in week 1.
My background (for anyone wanting too much reading material =p )
…Always a chunky kid in a household that didn’t understand/value good diet & exercise. Hated, hated exercise. Almost didn’t graduate High School due to P.E. requirements. In college, chunk turned to flat out fat. By the time I was starting my first real job, I was about 250#’s on a 5’6 frame, and not even 20.
Started working out (light cardio, 1-3x a week) because I was just so tired of being heavy, and watching the clothes that had always fit me be replaced by super plus sized options I hated. I shed a little weight from this routine, but the real turning point was when I started taking some classes on strength training.
Learning to use weights, and balance strength training with cardio effectively transformed my body. It motivated me to learn a lot more about nutrition, exercise, etc. I fell in love with the whole process, as D.J. would say, fell in love with the iron.
For the past 8 years or so (I’m 33 now), I’ve been mostly happy with my exercise & food routines. At my fittest, I’d plateau at around 145#, shedding or gaining a few pounds here & there. I used the same routines to come back down this past year from a post-pregnancy weight of 175 to ~140. Which has been perfectly OK! But it’s a comfort zone.
Scotty’s program intrigued me because it looked effective, and it looked hard. Those two things often go hand-in-hand. Before my baby, when I was lifting really heavy & doing crossfit, I was crazy strong, but it took a lot of work to see the muscles.
Now that I’m working out of a home gym, I don’t see my work as much as I would like. I’ve been hoping this program would help me shed body fat and pop them muscles out.
At Day 14, I really can only say how happy I am with how this is going, and can’t wait for MORE! :)))
Thanks to those of you nearing the end for inspiring me to start. Hope you keep the fire going strong as you transition, your work is seriously amazing. ♥
